Kathy O'Hara
I won the third grade spelling bee. But my love of words (and accolades) didn't end there. Fast forward a few years, and you'll find me earning a bachelor's degree in English, soon followed by a master's degree. Those years of reading and writing led me to a job as a proofreader at a marketing agency.
It was the early 2000s, and interactive marketing was really starting to take off. I soon turned in my red pen for a mouse and started writing for the web. My first experiences were writing website and e-newsletter copy for brands such as Valvoline, Kikkoman, Star-Kist, Nature's Recipe and Adams Golf.
I continued to work as a copywriter, focused on website, email and online promotions for clients such as Tide, Downy, Bounce, beeinggirl (Always & Tampax), Bob Evans, Marzetti, Bush's Beans and Kroger. I also delivered the content strategy for entire websites, developed editorial calendars and managed a team of copywriters.
In more recent years, I have honed my content strategy and copywriting skills to accommodate today's digital landscape. From SEM and banner advertisements to landing pages and social media, the methods of marketing may have evolved, but my objective remains fixed: deliver polished, creative, contextual and branded content and copy that is grounded in solid strategy to attract and inform consumers and achieve results.
